Access Facilities

disability-accessDisability Access
The historic buildings and sloping landscape which make Arnos Vale so fascinating also, regretfully, make it difficult to provide full access facilities for people with disabilities, or mobility challenges. Improvements have been made to the buildings and paths around the site, but due to the restrictions already in place unfortunately not all spaces are fully accessible.

Visitors are invited to contact us for advice or to arrange assistance before making a visit, either by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by telephoning 0117 9719117. We will do what we can to provide you with access.

Paths and Roads

Please keep to the paths and exercise care throughout your visit.

Please note some paths may be slippery, uneven, or have concealed tree roots and loose stonemasonry that act as trip hazards.

Some paths have steep slopes, sharp bends and steps, making them unsuitable for wheelchairs and prams.

Some paths have been closed due to access or site maintenance issues - please avoid cordoned off areas for your own safety.

Contact  East Lodge Reception 0117 971 9711 for further information and advice on your access.

Graves

Please do not stand on the graves or climb on the monuments.  Some graves are over 170 years old, many have voids underneath and there may be only a thin layer of old concrete above a brick lined vault.

Arnos Vale continues to be a working cemetery and place of remembrance.  Please be respectful towards other visitors who may be visiting graves.
