The Visitor Reception is open from Monday to Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm, excluding public holidays. For the Christmas period - the dates/times for opening will change! If you are planning on visiting over Christmas then please contact us.
The cemetery's Books of Remembrance (and museum from 1 April 2010) are viewable at West Lodge during the hours of 10:30am-3:30pm every day. Please ask at the Visitor Reception for access. The Books of Remembrance may also be viewed online.
Getting Here
Arnos Vale lies close to Bristol's city centre on the A4 Bath Road, at Brislington. Pedestrians have a choice of three entry points - from the Bath Road; from Cemetery Road (off the A37 Wells Road) or via Arnos Park. The nearest train station is Temple Meads, located just under a mile east of the site. Bus services 1, X39, 57, 178 and 349 stop outside the Bath Road gates. There is parking for bicycles at the back of the Visitor Reception (East Lodge). Parking on site is limited and vehicles must enter via Bath Road. Two spaces in front of the Anglican Chapel, two in front of the Spielman Centre and one in front of the West Lodge are reserved for cars displaying disabled badges.

Disability Access
The historic buildings and sloping landscape which make Arnos Vale so fascinating also, regretfully, make it difficult to provide full access facilities for people with disabilities, or mobility challenges. Improvements have been made to the buildings and paths around the site, but due to the restrictions already in place unfortunately not all spaces are fully accessible.

The historic nature of the site, the age and fragility of its structures and the rich abundance of wildlife means that great care needs to be taken when exploring.
Please don't stray from the marked paths as there are areas of concealed subsidance, collapsing graves and unexpected branches and brambles.
If you decide to explore the more minor paths which have not been surfaced, we advise that you wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
Always be aware that stonework may topple or crack, that paths may be slippery and that trip hazards - including fallen branches, roots, animal burrows and sunken stones - abound.
