From Ashes to Admin- online talkon 21 August 2024

Wednesday, 21 August 2024 at 6.30pm UK time

What happens if you die without family or money? Who takes care of your funeral? How can you plan in advance?

Evie King is the author of Ashes to Admin: Tales from the Caseload of a Council Funeral Officer, a memoir about her job arranging funerals for those without family or funds. This is a little known role that she wanted to make the world more aware of.

Her book aims to tell the otherwise lost stories of those who've ended up in her care, smashing that 3am anxiety about who'll be there when we die and how many people will attend our funeral. She invites us to rethink our ideas around life, death and legacy, and encourages us to plan in advance.
