Cafe and Hospitality ManagerJuly 11, 2022
Are you looking for a part time supervisor role in a fabulous setting over the next 6 months?
We are seeking a Bar and Events Supervisor to run our bar operations and assist with the smooth running of our café, weddings, and events. This is an ideal role for an event lover who would like to help lead our friendly, hardworking café/bar team to help us raise vital funds to support our charitable activities and ensure Arnos Vale has a sustainable future.
Working with the Events Manager and Cafe Manager, you’ll oversee and ensure effective running of the Arnos Vale Café bar. Our bars are an essential part of our events. You’ll plan layouts, set up and lead the team to maximise sales, providing great customer service. You’ll be proactive and ensure the smooth running of the operations of the bar and events.
You’ll lead and motivate our bar and front of house team and be an excellent communicator. You’ll enjoy being organised, showing attention to detail and feel pride in where you work. This is a busy role, so you’ll need to be enthusiastic and proactive with a positive approach.
We believe in celebrating people’s differences. So regardless of your background or personal characteristics, if you are great at what you do, we want to hear from you.
On the weeks when we host weddings or events the standard shift pattern is 8 hours on a Saturday, for example 5pm – 1.30am (with 30 mins unpaid break) and 4 hours on a Friday, 12pm – 4pm. Please note that we have 11 weddings and around 15-20 evening events between July and Dec.
On non-event weeks you might work 6 hours on a Friday (11am – 5pm) and 6 hours on a Saturday (11am – 5pm) This will include working in the cafe, helping to set up rooms for meetings, tidying the storeroom, and some admin.
On the run up to events you will ensure that the bar stock levels are correct and that the bar team have the information that they need. You may be required to contact external suppliers, add information to function sheets, and create staff rotas.
On event days you will ensure the smooth running of the event. You will be the point of contact in the evening, with the Bar team and Front of House Assistants reporting to you. You will welcome visitors, the band or DJ and oversee the external catering on site. You will be required to delegate tasks, assist in cleaning, setting up/packing down furniture and securing buildings.
