Nature thrives at Arnos Vale. It is home to a diverse range of fascinating wildlife and part of an essential green corridor which enables species to survive in the heart of the city. Your students will discover the amazing habitats, food chains and food webs that thrive in woodland, grassland and scrubland.

Our Learning Coordinator.
Your day will be carefully planned and managed by our learning coordinator, Janine Marriott. Janine, a classroom teacher for five years was also previously employed as an Education Officer at Bath Postal Museum and Daventry Museum before working at Arnos Vale.

If you plan to bring a group on an unaccompanied visit, this still requires advanced booking to avoid clashes with other events and visitors on site.

What is Forest School?
Forest School is an out of class approach to learning, teaching developmental skills in a woodland environment.
The beautiful 45 acre listed landscape of Arnos Vale is used to motivate, promote self-esteem and engage children of all ages, abilities and learning styles through fun hands-on activities and skills led opportunities.
Who can take part in Forest School?
Forest school can be for any school key stage, home-learners or pre-schoolers. Sessions can be tailored for learners with disabilities and specific learning needs.

What do children do at Forest School?
Forest School is made up of a wide range of experiences and adventures. These can include
- Bush craft skills such as animal sign tracking
- Whittling and knife work (depending on age)
- Fire lighting and cooking on fires.
Learners will enjoy a large range of activities that will connect them with the environment including arts and crafts, active games and science based activities.
Your Visit.
At Arnos Vale we want to make sure your visit is as easy as possible from the time you book until the moment you leave.
Lasting approximately half a day your organised visit will be overseen by our learning coordinator.
Arnos Vale provides both indoor and outside areas for lunches as well as a secure area for your belongings alongside accessible toilet facilities. [icon-check] Gift shop and cafe on site.

Pricing
To help teachers, Arnos Vale has a clear pricing structure for our organised sessions, Pricing starts at only £6 per student!
- Up to 20 students = £130
- 20 – 30 students = £195
- 31-60 students = £360
- 61-90 students = £54
- Above 90 students, £6 per head in increments of 30
- These are per 1 hour workshop but include use of our learning space, and self-led additional activities.
- Forest school workshops are £15 day per child for a 4 hour session
- All prices are exclusive of VAT.
