Take a dusk amble, in search of the bats and other creatures that call Arnos Vale home. Find out about the graves and grave digging with our bat expert and ex-grave digger Dan Flew.

This activity is led by a local Bat expert using detection equipment and expert knowledge of the site, so you’ll visit the best bat-spotting locations in the cemetery as a variety of native bat species come out to feed at dusk. Learn about our native bat species, their habitats and how humans can help them flourish.

Local expert and Bat Guide, Daniel Flew (MSc GradCIEEM), is a professional Bat ecologist, member of Avon Bat group, a wildlife enthusiast and a local resident. Dan  has been recording and studying the bats of Arnos vale for the past 7 years.

He aims to let people understand how important Arnos Vale is for bats and also how these bats are important for Arnos Vale .

Dan was also a gravedigger for more than a decade, giving him a unique expertise of cemetery knowledge and Bat recording.
