Death Cafe on Sat 1st April, 2-4pm

    2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

As part of our Life, Death (and the Rest) event we are pleased to be hosting our first Death Cafe, with Judith Edwards.

At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death.

Our objective is ‘to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives’.

A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session. Upon arrival you can purchase your tea/coffee/cake from our wonderful Kate’s Kitchen cafe, and then move into the Spielman Centre next door to join the group. We kindly ask that you sign up for this event by clicking on our “Register Now” button, but then give donations to Judith on the day.

About Judith Edwards:

My name is Judi Edwards and I am a death doula based in Bristol.  I am a qualified social worker and was trained by Marie Curie to work with people with a life-limiting illness. My experience of nursing my mother at the end of her life and enabling her to remain at home is what brought me into this work.

“I am deeply committed to helping people to prepare for the end of their life whenever they choose to start making their plans – not just when faced with illness”
