Otomi, Vivalosmuertos and friends who are originally from Mexico are creating a traditional Ofrenda (Day of the Dead altar) in the Crypt at Arnos Vale Cemetery. This is our third year hosting this wonderful Ofrenda at Arnos Vale so we are really excited to welcome the team back.
You are welcome to visit the altar and place any photos of your loved ones who have passed on, as way of remembering and celebrating them. The Ofrenda will be free to view and open to the public in Arnos Vale Cemetery Crypt. On Saturday 27th we are hosting a special screening of Coco and the altar will be open for viewing in the evening.
Dia de los Muertos is is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in particular the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican ancestry living in other places. It is acknowledged internationally in many other cultures. The multi-day holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey.
