    10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Life, Death (and the Rest) is our annual 4 day event of talks, walks, theatre and film that supports a growing social movement talking about death, and how we remember our loved ones.

There will be the opportunity to come to a Death Cafe where people drink tea, eat cake and discuss death. Join in with one of our fascinating Morbid Curiosity tours, or learn about Memorial Tattoos with Dr John Troyer.  Come and listen to Carla Valentine talk about her book “Past Mortems” or join us in the Anglican Chapel to celebrate your own mortality with The Death Show.

Throughout January and February, we need enthusiastic and dedicated people to join our small team of event volunteers. Roles include distributing posters and leaflets, ushering audience members to seats , helping at front of house, acting as a point of contact for audience members for any queries, and assisting with ensuring that the space is safe for audience members throughout the performances and talks.

Our festival volunteers are able to watch a selection of the events free of charge, and gain valuable experience in festival volunteering with a passionate team.

If you’d like to volunteer for Life, Death (and the Rest), and  for future events at Arnos Vale please contact Adela

If you are interested in learning more about the festival feel free to join us at the launch event on Thu 18th Jan, 5.30-7.30pm. You will also hear Ruth Davey give a short introduction to the Living and Dying Mindful Photography Workshop and have the opportunity to chat with her before the event. Tickets are free, and you can register on Eventbrite.
