We’re overjoyed to welcome Carla Valentine back to Arnos Vale. Join us in the Anglican Chapel for a special presentation, taking you through the procedure of an autopsy in the same way as the chapters are laid out in her book, Past Mortems. To include new anecdotes on each topic and lots of new content – not to be missed!
Carla Valentine is a qualified Anatomical Pathology Technologist (Mortuary Technician or ‘Mortician’) holding both the Certificate and Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology, and currently researching our relationships with human remains. She is the Technical Curator of a Victorian Pathology Museum, restoring the 5000 anatomical specimens to their former glory and teasing stories from the dead in a different way. She organises events to showcase the collection, teaches students at the Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences, and conserves anatomical specimens every day. She talks about the specimens on YouTube and to anyone who’ll listen, and has the enviable position of having one foot firmly planted in the future of Pathology, and one firmly in the past.
Bar open from 6.30-7.30pm and Mr B’s Emporium of Reading will be selling copies of the book.
