A delightful programme of vocal music ranging from English, French, German and Welsh songs to Italian opera.
We will be acknowledging, celebrating and mourning the passing of the seasons through song, then skipping into the world of Mozart’s opera’s, seeing it through new eyes.
Those of you who enjoyed June’s offering from Pocket Opera will surely find new delights in this second programme.
Helen’s solo catalogue includes a contemporary work for the theatre – ‘Borderland’, directed by Mary Steadman and based on the writing of Charlotte Perkins-Gilman and the photography of Francesca Woodman and for which Helen wrote and performed the music. She has sung the contralto roles in Handel’s Messiah and the soprano in Brahms’ Requiem. Her Lieder recitals at St. Stephens Arts and Art-On-The-Hill, Bristol have been well-received.
‘Helen possesses an attractive, earthy sound’.
