    Tip-toe through the tombs of this wonderful wooded necropolis and journey into the underworld of cultures from across the world. For example, find out what links the gravestones here to epic myths from ancient Egypt and India. Or encounter the Mexican Day of the Dead in this most appropriate of settings.

    A short level walk of 1.5hrs duration.

    Who are Time and Tide?

    Mr Time and Miss Tide are two tale-tellers who lead a series of seasonal and themed walks or events around Bristol and beyond. They blend myth, legend, history and pure invention.

    This walk combines their extensive experience in the worlds of story, history, leading groups and walks to provide an imaginative engagement with beautiful Arnos Vale.

    We have free parking on site, and cycle racks available. There is an accessible parking space outside each chapel. Further information can be found on our Visiting Arnos Vale page.


    Arnos Vale Cemetery is not a fully accessible site. The tour route include some steps and slopes and has some  muddy or uneven paths. Wearing sensible shoes is strongly recommended.
