War Graves Tour

From underage conscripts to the war at home, this tour reveals the individual stories and sacrifices of wartime visiting War memorials and family graves across the cemetery.

Over a century on from the WW1 Armisticewe visit some of the graves of service personnel and civilians from both World Wars at rest in Arnos Vale.

Discover Arnos Vale’s Great War memorial that was built in 1921 at Soldiers’ Corner with stones that mark the graves of Great War casualties who died in Bristol’s hospitals.Learn about the stories of individual service personnel and view their graves. Find out about the stories of those who helped and supported these service personnel.

This tour starts at the East Lodge

We have free parking on site, and cycle racks available. There is an accessible parking space outside each chapel. Further information can be found on our Visiting Arnos Vale page.

Arnos Vale Cemetery is not a fully accessible site. The tour route includes some steps, steep slopes and muddy or uneven paths. Wearing warm clothes and sensible shoes is strongly recommended.

Tickets are issued via email upon booking. No need to print them out; you can show them to a team member on your electronic device. We regret that we cannot exchange, refund or transfer tickets unless the event in question has been cancelled or rescheduled by Arnos Vale. If the event is cancelled you will be notified by email.
