Raja Ram Mohan Roy Ceremonyon September 25th 2022

Join us for a celebration of the life and work of Raja Ram Mohan Roy (1772 – 1833), globally regarded as one of the Fathers of Modern India.

His rare and beautiful tomb at Arnos Vale has long been a place of pilgrimage for Bengalis and Indians. Repaired and conserved in 2008, it is now the site of a commemorative ceremony held on the Sunday nearest the anniversary of his death on September 27, 1833.

To read more about the Raja and his life, see our blog here.

The event begins at the Raja’s memorial on Ceremonial Way at 1pm. It will include some prayers, singing and performance, with a few short talks in the Anglican Chapel. Parking is limited on-site and the ceremonial way will be partly closed during the event.

Please feel welcome to bring offerings of flowers to leave at the memorial.

This event is FREE of charge, and all are welcome. Please let us know you’re coming by completing the form below.
