His rare and beautiful tomb at Arnos Vale has long been a place of pilgrimage for Bengalis and Indians. Repaired and conserved in 2008, it is now the site of a commemorative ceremony held on the Sunday nearest the anniversary of his death on September 27, 1833.

The event begins at the Raja’s memorial on Ceremonial Way at 1pm. It will include some prayers, singing and performance, with a few short talks in the Anglican Chapel. Parking is limited on-site and the ceremonial way will be partly closed during the event.
