A Gift in your Will
Your legacy, with love
After you’ve taken care of loved ones, you may wish to leave a gift in your will to Arnos Vale. These kind gifts protect our wonderful heritage; allowing nature to thrive and inspiring the next generation to value, enjoy and visit this wonderful place. Gifts in Wills are used right at the heart of our work: from restoring our listed buildings and protecting wildlife habitats, to repairing pathways and working with communities.
How you’re remembered
Your Will tells the people you leave behind about the person you are. It also helps pass on your principles and the values that matter to you.
Your greatest gift
We all have financial commitments, which means we can’t always do as much as we’d like while we are here. So a gift in your Will, of as little as one percent of your estate, is an opportunity to give more than you might ever have been able to give in your lifetime, ensuring this special place is protected and enhanced long into the future.
How to leave your legacy
If you’d like to include Arnos Vale in your Will, please ask your solicitor to use our full name and details to ensure the gift reaches us. These are:
Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust, a charity registered in England and Wales no. 1120210. Registered office: West Lodge, Arnos Vale Cemetery, Bath Road, BS4 3EW.
There are a number of things to consider when making your Will. If you’d like to receive our checklist and guide, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Telling us about your special gift
Your Will is personal and it’s entirely up to you if you wish to share this information. But if you do choose to tell us, we’d love to be able to thank you properly and let you know how your gift can help.
The Friends of Arnos Vale Cemetery
Previously known as The Association for the Preservation of Arnos Vale Cemetery, set up originally in 1987 to campaign to save the cemetery, the Friends of Arnos Vale Cemetery now continue to fundraise to support the Trust with ongoing improvements to the Cemetery.
Over the last 32 years the Friends have contributed over £165,000 to the restoration programme. Our Volunteers continue to support the Trust on all types of landscaping work, as tour guides and in the gift shop and reception.
In June 2015 we were recognised with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service - the MBE for volunteers – for outstanding work in local communities.
More recently, we have funded the first two phases of the restoration of The Cloisters, supported the Trust with a major purchase of a new van, another chainsaw and a battery-operated strimmer.
- To support Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust in promoting Arnos Vale Cemetery as a place of remembrance, recreation, heritage, wildlife and learning, which is sustainable, viable and valued by all its stakeholders
- To support the Trust through volunteer roles: to include grounds maintenance, visitor reception, shop, office administration and research, tour guiding, talks and event support plus other appropriate volunteering activities
- To carry out fundraising for specific Cemetery projects in agreement with the Trust
