Our air-seasoned hardwood logs – a mix of ash and sycamore – are now available to purchase directly from our Arnos Vale Cemetery shop in Bristol. These sustainably sourced logs come from self-seeded trees grown and responsibly processed on our beautiful 45-acre heritage site.

We mainly deliver to local addresses in South Bristol. If you are located further afield or within Bristol’s Clean Air Zone, please get in touch via the enquiry form for a delivery quote.

For deliveries, we ask for at least 2 weeks’ notice, as we bundle deliveries together to reduce our environmental impact and keep costs low.

FAQs

1What size are your logs?

We aim to provide logs that are a suitable size for most domestic wood-burning stoves. However, please note that we do not offer a chopping or resizing service, so we recommend checking that the log sizes are suitable for your stove before purchasing.

2Are your logs certified and ready to burn?

Yes. Our logs are air-seasoned on-site for 6 to 12 months in metal drying cages, using only natural airflow. This eco-friendly method produces logs with a moisture content below 20%, in line with the Air Quality (Domestic Solid Fuels Standards) Regulations 2020. We are certified by Woodsure, the UK’s leading quality assurance scheme for wood fuel.

3Do you reuse log bags?

Yes, we operate a bag reuse scheme. Our log bags are repurposed malt sacks kindly donated by local brewers. Please return your empty bags so we can clean and refill them—it's a simple way to help reduce waste and support sustainability.

4Is it safe to burn wood from ash dieback trees?

Yes, it is completely safe to burn wood from trees affected by ash dieback. The spores are only harmful to living ash trees during the growing season, and do not pose a risk when used as firewood. We harvest and process this wood responsibly as part of our woodland management efforts.

5Can I buy unseasoned (green) wood to season at home?

Yes. In line with current UK regulations, we can sell unseasoned green wood in volumes of 2 cubic metres or more. This allows you to season the logs yourself at home. If you’re interested, please contact us via email
