Grave Care Service
We understand that it’s not always possible to visit a loved one’s grave regularly. Our grave clearance service removes debris and overgrown vegetation, helping to keep graves tidy, clean and well cared for.
One-off Grave Clearance
We offer a one-off grave clearance service for graves at Arnos Vale, subject to the grave being accessible.
Our Estates team will clear plant life from the grave and the area immediately around it, helping to make the grave easier to visit and maintain.
The service includes:
- Access to the grave
- Clearance of plant life on and immediately around the grave
- A photograph of the completed clearance, if selected
Prices
£90 – Clearance only
£110 – Clearance with photograph
For the £110 option, we will email you a photograph of the completed clearance. If there is no headstone or marker, we will provide a photograph of the grave area instead.
Arnos Vale is a charity, and income from our records search and grave clearance services helps us cover the costs of caring for and preserving this special place for future generations.
Before you book
To arrange a grave clearance, we need the grave area code and grave number, together with the grave location.
If you already have these details, please contact us to let us know that you would like to proceed. We will first confirm with our Estates team that the grave is accessible.

If you don't know the grave number or location, you will need to arrange a records search before a clearance can be booked.
Our standard records search provides the relevant grave details and includes detailed maps to help identify the grave's location.

If you only have a photograph
Unfortunately, we are unable to identify the exact location of a grave from a photograph alone.
Arnos Vale contains around 50,000 graves and approximately 300,000 burials across our 45-acre site, so we need the relevant grave records and location details to identify the correct grave.
